PRACTICE to make a difference!
Training services offered atLighthouse Resources are focused on informing and developing "practice", for professionals in the human services. The training that we offer is guided by an overarching interest inpost-structural thought and a long held commitment to the values of social justice and respect. Ourinterest in these ideas, and our commitment to these values, continue to engage us withapproaches such as: Strengths Based Practice, Narrative Practice, Solution FocusedPractices, Recovery Orientation and Neuroscience.
Following on from the recent sucess of our Guest Presenter workshops, in 2012 Lighthouse Resources will also be offering you a wider range of workshops delivered by presenters that have specilaised within a particular field or have developed a program ready to be used in your practice.
Ideas About Teaching and Learning
Our training workshops are designed to be highly experiential and to value the knowledge and stories participants bring from their practice. Utilising contemporary learning principles, we aim to clearly define and demonstrate skills and practice tools by sharing stories of our own work. We establish a creative learning environment so that particpants can "try out" these skills in exercises and explore applications to their own varied work contexts.
The Ideas and their Applications
These ideas have found their ways into a wide variety of roles, tasks, contexts and sectors:
